Owandy Radiology Inc., a manufacturer of dental radiology hardware and imaging software, has launched a new application called the Oral Health Report. The app is part of the company’s IOS software suite and is designed to work with the Owandy IOS 3D intraoral scanner.
The Oral Health Report application uses artificial intelligence to generate digital impressions and assessments based on 3D scans of patients’ oral cavities. According to the company, the scans are produced in real-time and rendered in true color, with the AI assisting in highlighting areas that may require clinical attention.
“This new application provides dental professionals with the ability to scan hard and soft tissue in the oral cavity and then create comprehensive, easy-to-understand oral health reports in just one click,” said Boris Loyez, Owandy’s VP of Sales and Marketing for North America. “By making oral health data more accessible and visual, we’re improving diagnostics, communication, collaboration, and treatment outcomes.”
The app includes several features, including: AI-supported 3D scanning for diagnostic purposes; visualizations aimed at improving patient understanding; and one-click report generation with options for digital sharing via a QR code or secure link.
In addition to creating treatment plans, the app provides information intended to help patients make decisions about their oral health. The company also states that the tool is intended to support clearer communication between dental professionals and their patients.
