Dentsply Sirona recognized World Smile Day 2025 by expanding its ongoing partnership with Smile Train during the DS World clinical education event in Las Vegas. The event featured a dedicated booth and interactive installation aimed at raising awareness for cleft care and global access to oral health.
According to the company, the Smile Wall installation invited attendees to share what makes them smile, serving as a visual centerpiece at the Smile Train booth. The initiative is part of a broader campaign leading up to World Smile Day to engage dental professionals and highlight cleft ambassador stories.
One such story was shared on stage by Nasly Lopez, a 16-year-old Smile Train ambassador from Colombia. Lopez has been receiving cleft care for most of her life and delivered a message at DS World calling for continued innovation in cleft treatment and increased global support. She emphasized the importance of compassion and the role of digital tools in improving care outcomes.
Since launching its partnership with Smile Train in 2021, Dentsply Sirona has contributed $5 million in funding. According to the company, this support has enabled over 5,500 cleft surgeries worldwide and included 34 equipment donations to 15 Smile Train centers. The partnership also involves developing digital treatment standards and clinical education tools for providers.
At DS World Las Vegas 2025, Dentsply Sirona announced an additional $100,000 donation to Smile Train. According to the company, the funds will support cleft surgeries for children born with cleft lip and/or palate. These procedures can restore essential functions such as eating, speaking, and breathing, while also contributing to social development and self-confidence.
The company states that this initiative aligns with its global sustainability platform, “BEYOND: Taking Action for a Brighter World.” Under its “healthy smiles” focus, Dentsply Sirona aims to help create 25 million healthy smiles globally by the end of 2025 through education, treatment, and outreach.
Community organizations beyond Smile Train were also highlighted at DS World, including TeamSmile, Ben Massell Clinic, and Dental Lifeline Network. Representatives from each group participated in the Community Engagement booth. According to the company, these partnerships support expanded access to dental care for underserved populations through volunteer efforts and donated resources.
