The American Dental Association (ADA) has announced the formation of ADA Credit Union (ADA CU) in collaboration with BCU. According to the association, the new credit union was created to support the financial well-being of ADA member dentists, their teams, dental students, ADA staff, and their families.
ADA CU offers checking and savings accounts, certificates of deposit, auto loans, and one-on-one financial coaching. The new institution is designed to expand the range of financial products and services available to ADA members.
To assist dental students and early-career dentists, ADA CU has introduced the DentaFlex Personal Line of Credit. According to the organization, the program provides a flexible financial option for third- and fourth-year dental students and those enrolled in residency programs. The line of credit offers interest-only payments intended to ease expenses such as board exams, residency applications, or living costs during the transition into practice.
“Collaborating with BCU for ADA Credit Union answers a longstanding call from member dentists for the ADA to offer this type of resource, while providing a fitting synergy: just as the ADA belongs to its members, so does their credit union,” said ADA president Dr. Brett Kessler.
Mike Valentine, BCU president and CEO, said, “We’re honored that the ADA selected BCU to form this collaboration. For decades, we’ve worked with reputable organizations to deliver exceptional value through our member-owned, not-for-profit model. That history—and our commitment to reinvesting profits into creating an extraordinary member experience—makes us uniquely positioned to serve ADA members, their teams, and families. Together, we’re creating a financial resource that reflects the same dedication to credit union member success that the ADA is known for championing for its member-dentists.”
The ADA Credit Union was officially launched on October 23, 2025, during SmileCon. More information about membership and available services is available at ADAcu.org.
BCU is a not-for-profit, member-owned credit union serving more than 360,000 members across the United States and Puerto Rico. The organization provides banking services and financial well-being programs to employees and families of its partner companies, as well as individuals living or working in Northern Illinois, Southern Wisconsin, and Puerto Rico.
