exocad, an Align Technology, Inc. company based in Darmstadt, Germany, has announced the release of DentalCAD 3.3 Chemnitz. According to the company, the new version includes major updates to implant workflows, new AI-enabled, multi-unit design tools, and a redesigned split denture workflow.
“DentalCAD 3.3 Chemnitz marks a powerful leap forward in digital dentistry,” said Tillmann Steinbrecher, CEO of exocad. “With this release, we’ve dedicated ourselves to what truly matters to our users: intelligent automation, seamless workflows, and efficiency. From better abutment design to access to more AI services, every detail is crafted to empower dental professionals to do their best work—faster, easier, and with greater joy.”
According to the company, the release supports AI-enabled design for multiple units, allowing users to save time and clicks on up to three adjacent posterior crowns and posterior bridges with up to three elements. The reworked Implant Module includes customizable automatic abutment proposals and new editing tools. The split denture workflow enables users to design both a bar and its suprastructure in one workflow, creating two precisely fitting components intended to save time and reduce manual adjustments for All-On-X hybrids.
The company stated that Ivoclar’s clinical process for digital dentures is now supported by DentalCAD, with the goal of reducing the number of required patient visits. The Model Creator Module now supports Amann Girrbach’s Artex Print&Click system, allowing mounting of 3D-printed models in the Artex articulator without tools or plaster.
Additional features include symmetric tooth shape editing for esthetic design; AI automation to speed bite splint design; accelerated workflows for bridges and large tooth setups through Instant Anatomic Morphing in chain mode; a new typeahead search bar; inclusion of Inspira tooth libraries for esthetic restoration design; and support for the KaVo PROTARevo articulator, bringing the total number of supported articulators to 20.
exocad’s AI-enabled services are available for users of DentalCAD 3.3 Chemnitz with my.exocad integration in the European Union and United States. exocad Credits are required to access the AI services.
