Kuraray America Inc. has announced the launch of CERABIEN™ MiLai, a universal micro-layering ceramic system developed for zirconia and lithium disilicate restorations. According to the company, the system is being introduced at LMT LAB DAY™ 2026, held February 19–21, 2026, where it is featured with live demonstrations and hands-on sessions.
According to the company, advances in zirconia and lithium disilicate (LiDiSi) materials have reduced the need for high-strength frameworks layered with multiple porcelain applications. Monolithic or minimal cutback designs can now be used, supported by micro-layering techniques to achieve esthetic outcomes. CERABIEN™ MiLai was developed specifically for these indications.
The system includes a compact lineup of low-fusing porcelains and internal stains intended to support finishing procedures. According to the company, the material selection is designed to allow efficient and economical workflows while delivering esthetic results on the first attempt.
CERABIEN™ MiLai is structured around monolithic restorations and includes 31 Paint Pastes for surface glazing and staining. For contouring and surface characterization, the system offers six Build Pastes. For cut-back techniques requiring additional detail, the lineup includes 36 micro-layering porcelains and 15 internal stains.
According to the company, all components fire at 740°C (1,364°F), supporting compatibility with zirconia and silicate ceramics, including IPS e.max substructures. The company states that this allows laboratories to reduce the number of porcelain systems in inventory and simplify material selection.
CERABIEN™ MiLai is based on synthetic feldspathic porcelain technology, consistent with other porcelains from Kuraray Noritake Dental Inc.. According to the company, the material structure and particle distribution are designed to resemble natural teeth, and handling properties remain stable through multiple firing cycles. The tooth shades are fluorescent to enhance vitality in completed restorations.
CERABIEN™ MiLai is available through Zahn™—Division of Henry Schein, Nowak Dental Supplies, Benco Dental, Patterson Dental, and KATANA Lab Direct.
Kuraray Noritake Dental Inc. was formed in April 2012 through the merger of Kuraray Medical Inc. and Noritake Dental Supply Co. According to the company, its portfolio spans ceramics, composites, and biomaterials, supported by expertise in organic and inorganic chemistry.
