Dentsply Sirona and Smile Train have received a 2026 Gold Halo Award in the category of Best Technology for Good Initiative, recognizing their collaborative efforts to support cleft care through digital dentistry and clinical education.
Digital workflows and technologies are increasingly being integrated into cleft care delivery, supporting treatment planning, case consistency, and broader access to services. The Halo Award highlights how the two organizations have applied digital dentistry tools alongside clinician training to enhance care delivery in diverse clinical environments.
Presented by Engage for Good, the Halo Awards recognize partnerships between companies and nonprofit organizations that demonstrate measurable social impact.
“At Smile Train, we see every day how access to timely, high-quality cleft care can change a life,” said Susannah Schaefer, President and CEO of Smile Train. “Receiving a Halo Award together with Dentsply Sirona is a meaningful recognition of what strong partnerships can achieve. By combining digital dentistry solutions with training and local expertise, we are helping more clinicians reach more patients and expand access to safe, effective treatment around the world – even in settings where resources are limited.”
Community Engagement and Corporate Social Responsibility Initiatives
Separately, Dentsply Sirona was also recognized with Gold in the Corporate Social Responsibility category at the Brandon Hall Group Excellence in Action Awards for its global engagement efforts under its BEYOND sustainability strategy.
This recognition reflects the company’s approach to supporting access to oral healthcare through partnerships with organizations including TeamSmile and Project 32, in addition to Smile Train. These collaborations involve a combination of financial support, provision of dental equipment and consumables, and delivery of clinical education and training. Employee participation through volunteering and program implementation is also a component of these initiatives.
The company’s strategy incorporates employee engagement across regions and roles, with an emphasis on integrating social responsibility activities into routine professional practice and organizational culture.
“We are honored to receive the Brandon Hall and Halo Award, as both recognitions reflect the passion and commitment our company and employees bring to our community engagement efforts,” said Andrea Frohning, SVP and Chief Human Resources Officer at Dentsply Sirona. “Through our sustainability strategy, we are guided to create tangible impact where it is needed the most. We know that when employee engagement, strong community partnerships and clear purpose come together, we can go beyond in transforming lives.”
